It wasn't Cujo because she was nowhere near the area, but she took it as a sign. "I said, `I've got to go to the blanket, I've got to go there," said Charlene, who admits at this point she was "close to losing it" and "hysterical" about Cujo's disappearance. As she was driving down Upper Middle Road, she spotted Cujo in the headlights of her car. She called for him while holding a sausage to lure him and as he was limping towards her, another person on the street asked if she needed help, which spooked him. He ran back into the ravine. "I called my husband, crying," she said. "He came out to meet me and I told him I had just seen Cujo, and he didn't believe me." As they were talking, Cujo emerged from the ravine. "My husband dropped to his knees, called him and grabbed him," said Charlene. "It was just amazing. We're so happy he's home." What amazed the pair was not only that they found Cujo, but the amount of help they received from the community. "There were so many people looking for him," said Charlene. "I was driving around and I could see people calling, `Cujo, Cujo' and looking for him with their dogs." She got more than 50 phone calls, and even more were fielded by the local Humane Society regarding Cujo's disappearance. "Everyone wanted to know as soon as I found him," she said. Cujo is a little "banged up" from the car accident, and a wound on one of his legs from recent ligament repair surgery has opened up again, said Charlene. He also lost about 10 pounds and has a new wound on one of his legs. "He's just a little shook up, but you know, I think it toughened him up somehow," she said. "At any rate, we're so happy he's back. "This is the second time we rescued him from the clutches of death, there can't be a third," she added. To celebrate his return, Cujo had a steak dinner Monday night and Charlene, for the first time in 11 days, got a good night's sleep. "It's such a relief," she said. "I don't know how to thank everyone enough. We're so thankful for all of the help." 2006 BUICK RENDEZVOUS 2006 PONTIAC G6 GT COUPE Cashmere.
