The U.S and India production of the immigrant story told through realism was a favourite at least year's Toronto International Film Festival. The Mistress of Spices follows MNM's sellout inaugural screening in May of the Québec hit, C.R.A.Z.Y. The screening is Sept. 11 at Encore Cinemas, 171 Speers Rd., which is MNM's home. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door. The 2006/07 MNM season runs the second and fourth Monday of every month from September to November, excluding Thanksgiving when the showing will be Oct. 16, and then January to April. Monday Night at the Movies is a program of the Oakville Arts Council in partnership with Film Circuit, a division of The Toronto International Film Festival Group.
