The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday October 21, 2006 - 13 Oakville residents are invited to a Meet the Candidates event to be hosted by Oakvillegreen Conservation Association Inc. and Fair Vote Canada on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The event will be held from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at The Galaxy 707 Club located at 475 North Service Rd. E. This is an opportunity to meet all the candidates in one place and at one time. At this event, all candidates for regional/local councillor, local councillor, mayor, regional chair and school board trustees will be invited to set up tables where they can meet and talk to members of the public and provide them with their campaign literature. From 8 to 9 p.m. the mayoral candidates will be welcomed to the stage to give a five-minute speech. A questionand-answer session will follow with questions from the public moderated by Fair Vote Canada. From 9 to 10 p.m. the regional chair candidates will be welcomed to the stage to give a five-minute speech followed by a question-and-answer session, again moderated by Fair Vote Canada.
