"It's just so beyond the character of the neighbourhood." The 140-unit complex proposed by Reichmann Senior's Housing Development Corporation would be built on the former Fantasy Fruit Market site, next to Coronation Park on Lakeshore Road West. The site is currently zoned for single, detached homes. The fruit market had operated under a legal non-conforming use exception which expired when the property was sold. Mulvale has slight edge in council support By Kim Arnott SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER There's no consensus among Oakville councillors on the issue of who should lead the town for the next four years. Five candidates are in competition for the job as Oakville's mayor, and four of them have at least one supporter among the current local politicians. Two of the town's 12 sitting councillors Ward 3 representative Chris Stoate and Ward 6 representative Janice Wright are running for mayor. The town's current mayor, Ann Mulvale, is also seeking the job, along with local residents Rob Burton and Danielle Giecewicz.
