Sparkling 14 Kt Diamond "Journey" Pendants Oakville Choral Society presents Mozart and Mistletoe The Oakville Choral Society (OCS) has announced Scott Ashby will be joining the group as its new apprentice conductor for the 2006 / 2007 season. The Burlington resident, who also sings with the choir in the bass section, brings to the OCS a strong technical music background and a love of music. Ashby holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in music education, and a Masters of Music with a choral conducting principal, both from Bob Jones University in South Carolina. He has taught music at the elementary and high school levels in South Carolina and in Simcoe. Currently, he works at the Royal Academy of Arts and Education in Georgetown teaching piano, and also directs the Trinity Christian School of Music in Burlington. He manages his own business, Ashby Musical Enterprises, which offers music products and services to students, teachers and church ministries, including lessons and instruments, as well as printed and recorded music through his website, www.ashbyme.com. The OCS and Ashby have been working together to prepare for the upcoming Christmas concert Mozart and Mistletoe on Dec. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate.
