www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Wednesday February 21, 2007 - 37 Rumba over reps By Melanie Cummings SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER ONE FABULOUS SALE Saturday, February 24th 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dance is just one of those words that won't stand still and limit itself to one mode. Is it a hobby, a sport, a social scene? Should it be done alone, with a partner or among a group? The answer is all of the above. And Kristy Morgan has opened her studio called Keep on Dancing with all of these in mind. "Dancing is far more fun than working out in a fitness centre: the music is better, it provides the same health benefits and also releases stress and tension," said Morgan. Think about it. Doing reps in the weight room or learning to rumba? Plodding away on a dull treadmill or doing the fox trot, waltz, tango or chacha? The stationary bike, or taking on a mambo maneuver or swing lesson? Dancing is as good for the body as it is for the mind. It ignites our imagination, is a mood lifter, improves memory through the process of mastering moves and steps, and encourages sociability. In fact, in all of Morgan's years of teaching, a weekly dance lesson has become a fun-filled date night for many couples. "If more couples took dance lessons, the national divorce rate would be much lower," said Morgan. She can't remember where she read that but she's witness to its truthful connection daily. In dance there is no winner or loser. It's a sport in which it truly does take two to tango. Lessons for adults only are offered for everything from ballroom to Latin dance are organized around the hectic schedules of the busy set, said Morgan. "We offer a lot of flexibility and freedom to accommodate our client's time, skill level and abilities too." Morgan has cured many rhythmically challenged students born with two-left feet. "Anyone can learn how to dance," she said. Moving and grooving has been a natural part of existence for as long as men and women have learned to walk in an upright position. Instructors at Keep on Dancing are fun, energetic people who are keen to ensure each dance lesson is an enjoyable, sociable experience for everyone. They'll also help those students who want to dance in the competitive arena achieve their goals. This is not your dull, dry how-to class. "I want the guy's guy to feel as comfortable in the studio as the girl's girl does," added Morgan. Lessons at Keep on Dancing also come with no strings attached, obligations or contracts. The studio is located downtown at 225 Lakeshore Road East (just one block west of Trafalgar Rd.) on the second floor. 50-75% off all Clothing & Footwear *CURRENTLY ACCEPTING DESIGNER SPRING & SUMMER APPAREL, ACCESSORIES, SHOES AND PURSES 112 Dunn Street, Oakville 905-338-3550 www.fabulous-finds.biz We Know MORTGAGES LOANS ASHLEA WESSEL / SPECIAL TO THE BEAVER · LINE OF CREDIT "We specialize in hard to place mortgages" JUST DANCIN': Jonathan Heibein and Kristy Morgan dance at Morgan's recently opened studio, Keep on Dancing. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Mortgages Residential and Commercial Debt Consolidation Power of Sale Refinancing No Up Front Fees Up to 100% Financing O.A.C.
