Survived by his beloved wife Elsse, sons Mark, Guy and Greg, daughters-in-law Susan, Kathy and Georgia, grandchildren Nanette, Marlon, Allison, Johanna, Anders and Cooper, brother Arnold, niece Susan and nephew, Eric. Leo grew up in Windsor, graduating from the University of Detroit with a degree in mechanical engineering. He married in 1951 and settled in Oakville in 1955. A consummate and successful entrepreneur, he started a fuel oil company, West Way Fuels, an all terrain vehicle company, an RV dealership, a leading edge solar technology company, and an industrial construction firm. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oakville, serving for many years on church council. He was happiest in the tireless pursuit of knowledge and new opportunity. Later in life, he was fond of conveying his experiences and "expert opinion" to younger generations, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed challenging young minds and encouraged them to aspire to great things. Engaging and vital to the end, Leo will be remembered for his integrity, work ethic, generosity and devotion to family. We remain confident in our Christian faith that tells us we will see him again.
