Feature poet is Matthew Tierney and guest poet is Robert McNamee. The event includes an open mic and $5 admission covers cost of feature poet and chapbook of poetry. · Monday, April 16, 7 9:30 p.m, Elka Enola's: Pelicans, a bi-weekly group that meets for intense critiquing of poems. Those interested should contact Enola. · Thursday, April 19, 7 9 p.m., Timothy's: Canadian Federation of Poets, which meets monthly to practice reading their poetry using a microphone. · Friday, April 20, 7 9 p.m., Chapters: The Pelicans and the Ontario Poetry Society, a reading by members of both groups. · Saturday, April 21, 1-4 p.m., Oakville Central Library auditorium: Bring your words to life, a workshop by Yo Mustafa for poets of all levels. Actor, director and teacher, Mustafa's workshop will help poets be more effective when reading to the public. Attendance is limited and advanced registration is required by contacting Enola. · Sunday, April 22, 12-2 p.m., Moonshine Café: The Visual Word, poets and artists each present new works, as well as works they have created inspired by poems or art from an earlier meeting. Artists of any medium can present works for discussion. · Thursday, April 26, 7-9 p.m., Timothy's: Inkwell, Oakville's longestrunning poetry group, which meets twice monthly to share poetry. · Friday, April 27, 7 9 p.m., Chapters: Open Mic, a chance for all poets, whether they're associated with a group or not, to read their poetry. · Saturday, April 28, 1 5 p.m., Oakville Central Public Library auditorium: Beginning Poets: Interactive Workshop. It will draw on a panel of writers with different styles, each reading their works and commenting on various topics. Questions and audience interaction will be involved.
