Lyn was vacationing in Portugal with her family when she saw a World Cup fencing match on TV. Being one of the few things to watch where she did- n't need to know the language, she continued to watch. The sport piqued her interest. "I had always played team sports (mainly soccer) but this was an individual sport," she said. "It was kind of different and something nobody really knows about."
