For the both of them, being on location and filming was a constant learning experience. "It's a definite crash course," said Espina, who is currently enrolled in film studies at Sheridan College. "You say let's make a movie, and every day you're pulling your hair out, and you find a creative way of doing something," he added. The experience of filming From the Woods was full of insight for the two young filmmakers, and they both came away from it agreeing that it was fun to work with actors and that making a feature length film takes understand- ing and cooperation among everyone involved. "There were so many great things," said Espina. "But for me, working with the actors was my favourite experience." Lauzon and Espina both admit to having more influences than can be named, but agree that every movie can give inspiration. "Our inspiration comes from everywhere," said Lauzon. "Every movie you watch inspires you somehow, you even take something away from a bad movie." As Lauzon now begins post-production on his film, which he expects will be complete by the middle of August, perhaps one day, a future young filmmaker will be inspired by the work of either Lauzon or Espina.
