Cineplex Entertainment is in the process of building a new state-of-the-art Silver City entertainment complex in Oakville, which company officials boast will be far superior to the average movie theatre. "We're really, really excited about this project, this is something that we have been working on for a very long time," said Dan McGrath, Executive Vice President, Cineplex Entertainment at the project's official groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday. "Initially we had thought about building a regular movie theatre here, which still would have been a fantastic theatre in every way, but we've made some changes. We've added a whole bowling component, an entertainment component and VIP auditoriums. It's something that really is truly unique, not only in Ontario and Canada, but really in North America. There really is going to be no theatre like this in North America or even in the world for that matter." At the moment the complex's 3531 Wyecroft Rd. location only sports a gargantuan steel skeleton, providing observers with only the slightest glimpse of what the facility will offer when it opens around November or December of this year. At more than 45,000 square feet the Silver City Oakville Cinemas will house a total of 12 screens with more than 2,300 seats. The complex will also feature a six-lane bowling component and a separate family entertainment centre equipped with the latest interactive electronic video games as well as pool tables. The very seats guests sit in will be enhanced, with each row of seats 18 inches higher than the previous row to provide OAKVILLE DODGE We're Moving to Trafalgar Rd. 646 4th Line EXPANDING TO at Speers Rd.
