The experience has also been a memorable one for Crawford's son Jacob, who celebrated his 10th birthday while riding on the back of his father's motorcycle. "Canada is much bigger than I thought," he said. "I've met many interesting people and seen many great places already. I'll be ready in September when the teacher asks us, `what did you do on your summer vacation?'" With organ and tissue donor cards on hand during the rally, Crawford and OlivoCrawford were happy to see more than a few people filling them out. "If you sign your organ donor card and your family is unaware of your wishes, they may reverse that decision. The family can override your decision, so it is good that they know," said Crawford. Olivo-Crawford also notes that the moment after learning a loved one is going to pass away is no time for the family to have to make decisions concerning organ and tissue donation without knowing what that loved one wanted. "I know it is a hard subject to discuss, but it is a necessary one," she said. Taking Thursday off to rest and work on getting their motorcycles ready for the journey ahead, the group intends to resume their cross-Canada trip today. "We'll head up towards Sudbury and then we'll proceed westwards towards Sault Ste. Marie and Brandon, Manitoba and other cities," said Crawford.
