Kimberley is a student mentor for Grade 9 and 10 students, and volunteers as a tutor for English and mathematics in a community group home. She also participated as a volunteer for an inter-cultural program to help refurbish classrooms in Costa Rica. · Constance Ratelle, Shirley Henderson Award -- Ratelle is a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School who is continuing her studies in Science at McMaster University in Hamilton. Ratelle was a member of the Student Athletic Council and a member of the Justice and Peace Committee at her school. Ratelle is also a member of the Student Leadership Team at a local church. She has worked as a counsellor at an International Languages summer camp, been a volunteer camp counsellor and a volunteer Sunday school teacher. The recipients of the 2007 In Memory of Eleanor Stone Performing Arts Awards must be entering studies in performing arts and have an A or B average. The recipients include: · Sara Garcia is a graduate of the Etobicoke School of the Arts. This fall, she is enrolled in Drama at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Garcia was a member of the choir, the Jazz ensemble and a member of the Yearbook Committee. She also participated on the soccer and swim teams. Garcia has won numerous awards at music festivals and has acted with the West End Studio. · Teresa White is a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School. She is continuing her studies at Music at the University of Guelph. White has mastered flute, trumpet, guitar, clarinet, piano and a variety of percussion instruments. Over the past three years, she has been a member of the Halton Youth Symphony and, as first chair percussionist, has helped train younger members. Last year, White received a bursary from the Symphony for excellence in performance, positive attitude and helpfulness. The two recipients of the Mature Student Awards that are intended to help mature students return to school are Dorota Lukomska and Maria Cristina Rebellon, who will both be attending Sheridan College in the fall.
