The festival is the highlight of the ACCO's yearly activities since participating in the first ever festival nine years ago. The ACCO is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to showcase the rich culture of the Arabic speaking countries of the world, while at the same time promoting tolerance among Halton region's many diverse communities. The festival provides a great backdrop of the World during the official declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on July 7, 2007. These two countries will be represented through music and folkloric Dabkas (traditional dances) performed by the Maysaloun Youth Group Dance Company.
