Donations can be made at the clearly marked Fareshare Food Bank bins located in local grocery stores, the Fareshare Food Bank itself located at 1240 Speers Rd. Unit 6, or local fire stations. While food donations are deeply needed the food bank also needs donations of money to give the less fortunate a happy holiday. Dudley Clarke, Fareshare Food Bank n't do this without the monetary donations that we get from people." Those wishing to donate money can mail it to 1240 Speers Rd. Unit 6, L6L 2X4. "We hand out paper bags at the Super Store here in Oakville for people going in to do their shopping, as a little reminder to donate. We've had this task handled almost exclusively by high school students who volunteer," said Clarke. "Without volunteers we would be dead in the water. We can use as many as we can get." While anyone willing to volunteer for this service would be welcome, Clarke noted that high school students have an added incentive as this time goes towards their community service hours needed for graduation. Anyone interested in volunteering can call 905-8458014. "All of these things we need to be in a position to provide a helping hand to those in need," said Clarke. "There has been an ongoing need ever since the food bank opened 20 years ago, and I'm sorry to say there is very little hope of us being able to close it down, because the demand is constant." ® Kid's Stuff with Previous ExperienceTM Furniture Event Children's Consignment CRIB THURSNEWTHURSPACKAGE SPECIALS!
