This was the key bullet point of Monday's Budget Committee meeting at which Town staff presented the 2008 Capital Budget and 10-year Financial Forecast. Tasked with providing the committee with a plan to meet the town's growth and infrastructure needs in a fiscally sustainable way, staff came back with hefty price tags for these goals with the 2008 Capital Budget reaching a total of $82 million and the 10-year Financial Forecast running $769 million. This year's run was held on Jan. 27, just two days after the Scottish baird's birthday. A tartan-clad piper kicked off the race and the post-race breakfast hot porridge of course was ladled out after the race. The event supports the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton Region and aimed to surpass last year's total of $4,000. Of the 53 Oakville runners participating, the top Oakville male runner was Kevin Smith who placed eighth overall, while the top Oakville female runner was Stephanie MacNeill. Josephat Ongeri of Hamilton won the race. $ 349 ea. 905-842-8209 LIMITED TIME OFFER See Budget page 7 · Wood & Vinyl Shutters, Supplied & Installed · High Quality at Affordable Prices · Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed · Serving Oakville with Shop at Home Service Authorized Vinylbilt Dealer Shop at Home Service FREE www.shuttersetc.ca
