We have compiled a list of why we have returned to camp for so many years and why we know your children will love it too. 10. Singing the Moose song when we walk to our shelters. 9. Sunscreen, snacks and water breaks. 8. Creating safe opportunities for children to learn and develop in a healthy and caring community. W 7. Taking trips to new places. Having an adventure. 6. Building a positive experience for children and youth and watching them grow. 5. Helping kids to learn the YMCA core values (Inclusiveness, Health, Responsibility, Respect, Caring, Honesty). Values make a difference at Y camp. 4. Overnight campouts, bonfires, marshmallows, campfire songs. 3. Learning new things. How to paddle a canoe, how to do origami, how to play charades.... 2. Including everyone in everything we do...no one is left out at camp. 1. Being busy. Having fun. Active kids are happy, cooperative kids. We have grown up in the YMCA environment as campers, staff members and now supervisors of the YMCA of Oakville day camps.
