10 - The Oakville Beaver, Friday September 19, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Taking the challenge With the corporate teams all signed up, the United Way of Oakville is inviting spectators to take in the Winston Park Challenge on Wednesday, Sept. 24. There will be plenty of opportunity to cheer at the challenge set to take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oakville AMC Centrum Park. There will be a CEO challenge, a tricycle grand prix, a firefighter sprint and volleyball competitions. The event is free. It's a fundraiser for the United Way of Oakville, which is seeking to raise $3.4 million for reinvestment in more than 30 local social service agencies that serve Oakville residents in his 2008 campaign which runs until early December. Boston Pizza is donating pizza, water/juice, veggie and fruit trays allowing the Oakville United Way to sell tickets for a minimum donation of $5 -- the only potential cost at the event. The Oakville Fire Department will be on hand with information on fire protection and Halton Regional Police have accepted the Oakville Fire Department association's challenge of a tug of war.
