4- The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday September 27, 2008 www.oakvillebeaver.com Two accused of vandalizing vehicles in car dealership Two Oakville men are facing charges in connection with acts of vandalism at an Oakville car dealership last month. Police said, on Aug. 13, at 12:30 a.m. two men walked onto the Oakville Dodge dealership, at Trafalgar Road and Oak Park Drive, and began damaging the vehicles that were parked on the lot. The vandals tore off numerous windshield wipers, broke taillights and kicked the doors of the cars. A total of 30 vehicles were vandalized during the incident with the damage cost ringing in at approximately $4,000. A surveillance camera captured the images of two suspects and police canvassed area businesses to see if anyone knew them. On Sept. 24, police arrested a man in connection with the incident after a police received a call that one of the suspects was at a restaurant near the dealership. A second man was arrested the following day. Ryan Jeffrey Hamilton, 21, and Dustin Robert Spencer, 22, have both been charged with mischief under $5,000. This weekend! The public is invited to the talk set to take place from 2 to 3 p.m. in Lecture Hall B124. Garneau will speak on the importance of applied education and research and prospects for future investment in them. The event, hosted by Robert Eagle, Sheridan's director of research, and Jill Birch, vice president of business development, is expected to draw students and faculty in science, technology and journalism -- as well as the public. Garneau has received 11 honorary degrees and the Order of Canada. He lives in Montreal with his wife, Pamela and family.
