Art show opening at Abbozzo, Poetry Month wraps up A solo exhibition called Cast Shadows and Circumstances is opening for Daniel Ross at Abbozzo Gallery, 179 Lakeshore Rd. The show runs April 30-May 17. An opening reception with the artist will be held Thursday, April 30, 7-9 p.m. An informal artist talk will be held Saturday, May 2, 2-4 p.m. Ross was born in Ottawa, Ontario and now lives in Burlington, Ontario. His new work draws on past images, earlier sketches and reflects the changes in his life. Ross' earlier work dealt with his exploration of self; of expressing how he feels at certain moments in his life in an effort to understand those moments better. This will be the presentation of prizes to the winners of the fourth annual Spirit of Youth Poetry Contest. The contest is held annually in the Halton Public and Catholic District school boards and seeks to promote young poets and literary talents of the future.
