OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, May 22, 2009 · 24 Lively Dragon Boat Race at Kelso this Saturday The annual Lively Dragon Boat Race will be held in Milton at Kelso Conservation Area (5234 Kelso Road) on Saturday, May 23 to raise funds for Halton Region's Long Term Care Homes (The Villages of Halton -- Allendale in Milton, Creek Way Village in Burlington and Post Inn Village in Oakville). Lively Dragon is a dragon boat racing club that organizes boat races to raise funds for charities. The event will feature activities for families, a barbeque and dragon boat racing that will take place from 9-4 p. m. The 2008 Lively Dragon Boat Race was a success with close to 1250 participants, more than 1,000 spectators and $14,421 raised from the event. The seven WWTPs owned and operated by Halton Region currently generate approximately 11,000 dry tones of anaerobic biosolids per year. In 1999, a Biosolids Management Strategy was related to biosolids management. Since that time there have been additional changes in the regulation of biosolids management, as well as biosolids treatment technologies. Given these changes, it is an appropriate time for Halton Region to undertake a Biosolids Master The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate alternative technologies and biosolids management options and to recommend a strategy that responds to the current and future challenges to the year 2031. Location Halton Hills Civic Centre, 1 Halton Hills The Process The study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements for Master Plans under evaluation of alternatives, an assessment of the potential environmental effects of the environmental impacts.
