OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, July 15, 2009 · 8 By Tina Depko Volunteers needed to check Oakville's Vital Signs the budget process and priorities for the Town for 2009. It also helps us to better direct our granting." Volunteers are being asked to fill out a survey, grading the community in 11 categories, including health and wellness, the gap between rich and poor, housing, work, arts and culture, getting started, belonging and leadership, learning, getting around, safety, and environment. Those filling out the forms will be asked to give aspects within each of those areas a grade between A and F. Last year, close to 600 people filled out the survey. Baillie said he would like to see an even higher number of responses. There are no requirements as to who can fill out the survey. "We'd love to get to 1,000 this year," Baillie said. "We think the broader the response, the better." Residents have until early August to fill out a survey at www.oakvillevitalsigns.ca. The results will be published in Oakville's Vital Signs 2009, released on Oct.6. "This will allow people to sustain things that are really good about the town and conversely, where there are things that are issues, while they are still at a manageable stage, get on them and do something," said Baillie.
