Australia's Nathan Green edged South African Retief Goosen on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff Monday, finally ending an RBC Canadian Open tournament that endured more than four inches of rain and had to be finished on a Monday for the first time since 1988. Green lifted his hands onto his head and looked up to the sky after securing his firstever win on the PGA Tour, one that earned him nearly $1 million U.S. The previous best PGA Tour finish for the 34-year-old Green was a second-place showing at the Buick Invitational in 2006. He follows Chez Reavie, who won last year's RBC Canadian Open at the Abbey, as the second consecutive first-time victor to claim Canada's national open championship.
