The 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo goes on sale in Canada in January 2010. Pricing for the Turbo Coupé starts at $165,300; the Turbo Cabriolet starts at $178,400. With fine-tuned styling and supreme refinement, the new 911 Turbo deploys far-reaching technological innovations, more power and lower weight to deliver even higher performance and enhanced driving dynamics. The heart of the seventh-generation 911 Turbo is a new twinturbo engine, displacing 3.8 litres and delivering a maximum output of 500 hp. The first entirely new engine in the Turbo's 35-year-history comes with Direct Fuel Injection and Porsche's exclusive turbochargers with variable turbine geometry. As an option, the new flat six may be combined for the first time with Porsche's acclaimed seven-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox. Models equipped with PDK are also available with a new, optional three-spoke steering wheel with gearshift paddles (right for upshifts, left for downshifts) as an alternative to the standard steering wheel with its proven shift buttons. Both the standard PDK steering wheel and the new optional steering wheel come with integrated displays for Launch Control and Sport/Sport Plus modes. This combination of technology ensures an unprecedented standard of both efficiency and performance. The new 911 Turbo reduces CO2 emissions by 18 per cent compared to its predecessor and also uses significantly less fuel. Depending on configuration, the new Turbo requires just 11.4 - 11.7 L/100 km under the EU5 standard. Acceleration to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h are possible despite the low fuel consumption. Drivers of the new 911 Turbo will enjoy a further improvement in driving dynamics. Standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive and Porsche Stability Management (PSM) can be enhanced by optional Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV).
