Rookieball A's win league championship The Oakville A's junior rookieball team has made the most of its first rep season. The A's dominated their competition in the Central Ontario Baseball Association playoffs, winning all three of their games by substantial margins to claim the `A' title. Mike Vukojevic, Robbie Strachan, Sunil Sareen, Chris Sagl and Adam White each went 4-for-4 at the plate in the championship game, lifting the A's to a 2210 rout of the Burlington Bulls. Oakville also downed the Bulls earlier in the playoffs, prevailing 20-7. Matt Tani was 4-for-4, while Christian Bachoumis, Will Thomas and Justin Kurc were each perfect at the plate in three trips. The A's other victory came over the Georgetown Eagles, 28-5. Jacob Pokocky, Zach Gardiner, Cooper Elliott, Thomas Harbour and Zachary Marriott all had four hits in four at-bats for Oakville, which played excellent defence as well. Oakville, which also won the Hamilton West Mountain Rookieball Classic earlier this season, will try for a provincial championship Labour Day Weekend in Windsor. "The boys are peaking at the right time," said Oakville head coach Paul Harbour. "I think the provincial championships will see the culmination of all of the hard work that these fine young boys and my hardworking and dedicated coaching staff have put in all year. I believe the boys will show up for their first day of school... with another championship medal." PERFECT: The Oakville Soccer Club under-18 girls' Pink Kelsey's team went undefeated this season in house league play, going 14-0 in the regular season and 4-0 in the playoffs. U18 team runs the table The Oakville Soccer Club under-18 girls' Pink Kelsey's team recently completed an undefeated house league season by winning the League Cup playoff championship. Pink Kelsey's defeated Sky Blue Shoeless Joe's in the final to conclude the year with an 18-0 record. The team went 14-0 in regularseason play, then won all four of its playoff contests. Members of the team are Christina Lyn, Madison Coe, Michelle Fraser, Alicia Reis, Alyssa Valadao, Karina Sils, Christine Janicki, Meagan Glazin, Jillian Bekker, Denise Copping, Katherine Keitzke, Julia Crawley, Kelly Clark and Emma Young.
