The Hawks completed a 3-0 showing at the Georgetown tournament with a 51-40 win over the host Rebels in the final. Nicole Garcia scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds, Ashara Cadogan struck for 12 points and Marti Killeen contributed 10. Loyola's toughest game in the tournament was the semifinal, when it defeated the St. Jean de Brebeuf Braves 59-51. Cadogan hit six free throws in the final minutes to clinch the victory as Loyola shot 22 of 27 from the line in the game. In the tournament opener, the Hawks downed the Iroquois Ridge Trailblazers 38-17. Loyola, which went 2-1 at a season-opening tournament in St. Catharines earlier this month, also won its first game in league play. The Hawks easily beat the Nelson Lords 54-31, avenging last year's first-round playoff loss.
