The Budget Committee is focused on maintaining current programs and services and catching up on overdue facilities to meet the needs of residents. By using performance-based, program-based budgeting to identify potential savings, the Committee is looking to minimize the impact on property taxes. Budget Committee guidelines approved in June forecast a maximum total tax increase of 3 per cent and we've asked staff to bring back options to reduce this to under 2 per cent.
