OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, October 30, 2009 · 36 Jazz It Up for charity An elegant evening of dinner, dancing and jazz awaits, with the Halton Down Syndrome Association's (HDSA) upcoming auction gala. The Jazz it Up! fundraising event will recognize the association's past -- it's celebrating its 25th anniversary this year -- and help prepare for its future. It will take place Saturday, Nov. 7 at Granite Ridge Golf Club on Dublin Line in Milton. Entertainment will be provided by the Margot Roi Jazz Quartet. A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the event officially kicking off at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $75 each. The primary goal of the auction gala is to raise funds for the therapeutic and developmental needs of local families affected by Down's syndrome. HDSA is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization. Gala attendees will have a chance to win prize giveaways and bid in both silent and live auctions. Items up for bid in the silent auction include hotel getaways, premium golf foursomes, electronics, sports tickets, spa treatments, original artwork, rare sports collectibles, jewelry, clothing and more.
