Hot start for Hisey with CHL's Oilers Rob Hisey was recently named the Oakley/Central Hockey League player of the week after collecting seven points in two games last week. Hisey figured in on seven of the Tulsa Oilers' nine goals in a 5-4 win over Rapid City and 5-4 loss to Mississippi. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward led the Oilers in scoring as of Tuesday, scoring seven goals and adding five helpers in the first five games. Hisey is in his first season with Tulsa after playing the past four seasons in Europe. Agam boots Western into semis Nick Agam scored in the 86th minute to give the Western Mustangs a 1-0 win over the York Lions last weekend, moving Western into the final four of the Ontario University Athletics men's soccer playoffs. Agam converted the rebound off a free kick to give the Mustangs the upset victory. Western, which also features Oakville resident Evan Kadet, will face the University of Toronto this weekend in the semifinal. A victory over the Blues would qualify the Mustangs for the Canadian Interuniversity Sports, to be hosted by Trinity Western. Ringwald turns natural trick Dan Ringwald was recently named the Atlantic Hockey Association player of the week, the second time in four years he's earned the award. The senior defenceman became the first player in Rochester Institute of Technology history to record a natural hat trick and score three goals in a period at the NCAA Division 1 level, accomplishing the feat in a 7-0 rout of Connecticut Saturday. Ringwald, a two-time All-Atlantic first teamer, entered the game with 10 goals in 110 career contests. The previous evening, he dished out three assists in a 6-3 win over Connecticut. The former Oakville Blades player, whose other AHA player-of-the-week award came four years ago, is three points short of the 100-point plateau for his collegiate career. U12 team wins Richmond Hill title Oakville Soccer Club's under-12 A boys' team recently concluded its season with a golden performance at the Richmond Hill Soccer Tournament. Led by the play of keeper Ignacio Jiminez and defenders Steven Perks, Kevin Costin and Graham Maskens, Oakville allowed only two goals in the tournament. Oakville clinched the gold with a 3-0 win over Richmond Hill in the final. Dragan Andic, Jack Periera and Oliver Chau scored for Oakville. In the semifinal, Keven Mastri scored the game-winning goal in a victory over Whitby. Other members of the team are Nickolas Jedrick, Luke Derango, Redwan Baba, Leo Leone, Mitch Diotte, Andrew Manore, Graham Maskens, Michael Ferrari and Mohamed Sheikh.
