CBC Christmas Carol A number of years ago, CBC Radio launched a crossCanada program to promote public readings of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, as well as to raise money for local charities. CBC Radio morning personalities Mary Wiens and Jill Dempsey will each read a stave of the work. St. Paul's United Church is the local host and co-sponsor of the event. Special musical accompaniment will be provided by St. Paul's choir as well as the children's choir, the Joyful Noise. Flute orchestra The Oakville Suzuki Flute Orchestra (OSFO) is an ensemble for advanced Flute students under the direction of Michelle Anderson. Students in the orchestra range in age from 13 to 18. These dedicated students meet weekly and regularly perform a varied repertoire in and around Oakville. The OSFO will be performing on Dec. 13 from 1:303:30 p.m. at the Oakville Place food court to share their beautiful music and to generate donations for families whom they sponsor at Christmas.
