Haiti's Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive announced on Monday that more than 70,000 bodies have been buried in mass graves and Haitian Interior Minister Paul Antoine BienAime estimates that between 100,000 to 200,000 people have died as a result of the disaster. Support from all across the country has been pouring in. United Way Worldwide is working through its members and other partners in Haiti to respond to this disaster. It is mobilizing its staff, volunteer leaders and partners to not only get food and water to the affected areas, but also to help to determine the long-term recovery needs, such as access to health care, rebuilding will begin and United Way will still be there to help rebuild lives and infrastructure devastated by the disaster in Haiti.
