This was the chain's 19th annual Red Nose Day wherein employees annually don the red noses to brighten a February day. To beat the winter blahs with laughter, Canada's largest retail chain specializing in frozen food and prepared meals puts on a happy face for customers and employees alike. Since the company introduced Red Nose Day in 1992, M&M Meat Shops staff members have worn more than 40,000 red noses and tickled the funny bones of millions of customers. A daffodil gives hope; imagine what a bunch could do. The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Days are coming to Oakville. And the Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to take part in its upcoming Daffodil Days campaign, which is scheduled to take place from Thursday, March 25 to Sunday, March 28. Daffodil Days is a great way for families, friends, co-workers, clubs and groups to rally together and make cancer history. There are a variety of locations (grocery stores, LCBO locations, department stores, etc.) for volunteers to choose from, all across town. Volunteers are scheduled for shifts during the following times: 9 a.m.noon, noon-3 p.m., and 3- 6 p.m. On Saturday, the shift is 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday it is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The 6-9 p.m. shift is available Thursdays and Fridays only. For groups looking to volunteer together, it's possible to select a specific day (or days) to volunteer and a specific location at which to volunteer. That way, everyone has the opportunity to volunteer together. This was a popular option with high school students, sports teams and service clubs last year. For more information about volunteering with the Daffodil Days campaign, contact Lisa Moffatt, fundraising coordinator at lmoffatt@ontario.cancer.c a or 905-845-5231, ext. 3164.
