Eight Minor Oaks Hockey Association squads took to the ice Monday at Canlan Ice Sports for a tournament. The championship games in both divisions were exciting and competitive, with the Wolfpack rallying for a 6-5 win over the Eagles in the Shark Division final and the Wings flying past the Lumberjacks 6-4 in the Tiger Division championship game. The Wolfpack and Wings weren't the only winners on the day, however. Organizers of Hockey Day in Oakville held a food drive and collected enough food to fill a mini-van, while a food drive raffle raised $670. The food donations and money will be donated to the Oakville Fareshare Food Bank on Speers Road. This was the second year for the Hockey Day in Oakville event, organized by Marylou Lepore, Paul Amato, Karen Duggan and Pat Lepore.
