The effort raised $2,000 for Oakville's Fareshare food bank and its Easter food drive. For every patient with a good brushing report, $1 was donated and a smile placed on an office wall at his practice located at 1235 Trafalgar Rd. Approximately 1,500 smiles are now on the wall while Gwartz topped up the balance to reach the $2,000 goal. Fareshare still needs help as it struggles with its Easter food drive on until Sunday, April 11. While the bath tub race no longer takes place, the bank bed race does -- and the mayor advised all participants to wear helmets. There have been lost wheels, tumbles and a lot of fun over the years and this year Sheridan communications program students are back to work on the fifth anniversary of the race. The challenge includes contests for customers and bank employees to sweeten the pot with everything from a bedroom makeover to a paid day off work. There is also a diverse judging panel this year that includes the mayor and Sheridan students as well as World of Wheels editor in chief Diane Tierney and Dr. Lucy Garbara from Canada's Worst Driver.
