You can let the Town of Oakville know about these individuals, organizations, businesses and groups who are active participants in the community by nominating them for an Oakville Community Spirit Award. "We all have friends and colleagues who spend countless hours volunteering and supporting the endeavours of our dynamic community," Mayor Rob Burton said. "Collectively, these champions make Oakville an admired and livable community. Council and I encourage you to acknowledge these champions and nominate them for a Community Spirit Award." Last year more than 40 individuals and groups were recognized within Oakville for their exceptional contributions to the community and the Town hopes to surpass that number this year. A new award has been added to this year. The Access Award recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses or organizations that have made or are making a significant or ongoing voluntary contribution to the well-being and advancement of people with disabilities.
