Sur vived by his wife Elizabeth "Betty", his children; Heidi (Peter Wackett), Gerr y (Lee Anne), David, chiristine, Nathan and Sarah. Grandfather of Zoe, Nathan, Jack, Madison, Brad, Jeff, Christian and Sophie. Survived by his brother David, nephew Ian and brother in law Vince Lomore. Predeceased by his daughter Stephanie and his sisters; Anna Lienert and Marg Lomore. Gerry was heavily involved with the St. Catharines Rowing Club in the 1940's, 50's and 60's afinishing as Head Coach. He was employed for many years with the Port Weller Dry Docks prior to his retirement. The family received friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905684-6346) on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel on Monday June 7, 2010 at 12 o'clock noon. Cremation followed. She had suffered intense physical pain in her last few years due to severe osteoarthritis but was the personification of fortitude and always maintained an extremely pleasant and charming disposition. Renowned for her charity, gentleness and strength of character while possessing an extraordinarily reliable ability to put the welfare of others before herself. Special thanks to Dr. Chau, Feneck and Graham of Oakville and all the nurses and aides at the Intensive Care Unit at OTMH for their thorough efforts and care. A resident of Oakville for 44 years, Jack is survived by his wife Peggy (Margaret) Lawrence and four sons, John (Carmen) in Kamloops BC, Rick (Nancy) in Lacombe Alta., Doug (Paula) and Mark (Christina) in To r o n t o , a l o n g w i t h 1 0 g r a n d children- Jake, Sara, Patrick, Andrew, Steuart, Katie, Cameron, Katrina, Jenna and Scott. Born in 1928 in Peace River, Alberta, Jack helped run the family farm before graduating in chemical engineering at UofA and joining the oil industr y at a Calgar y refinery. Jack met Peggy at an auto mechanics course and celebrated their 58th anniversary last month. Jack moved to the B/A/Gulf refineries in Clarkson, Moose Jaw and to BP/ Petro Canada Oakville ending as Manager. He moved to London England as BP M a n a g e r, D e v e l o p m e n t , r e d u c i n g international environmental impacts of refining. Finally back to Toronto as VP Engineering to consult in cleaner oil and coal technologies. Jack and Peggy were dedicated to their sons, skiing, camping, traveling, and learning to love the outdoors. Jack was an avid golfer, and curler even with the onset of Parkinson's. He was a member of Oakville Golf, Curling, Probus, and Rotary Clubs. He was a past President of Oakville Galleries, Chamber of Commerce and United Way. Jack will be truly missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday June 11th at St. John's United Church, 262 Randall St. Oakville. Visitation at 1:00pm.
