Special Waste Drop-off Days are for Halton residents only. No commercial wastes are accepted. Wed Thurs 5 Fri 6 Collection Moves Sat 7 Date Location Halton Regional Centre 1151 Bronte Road, Oakville Due to the Civic Holiday, household waste collection services the week of August 2 will take place the day after your regular collection day. Please place your waste at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled holiday collection day. Please check your 2010 Waste Management Guide and Collection Calendar for your collection area details, or visit www.halton.ca/waste to use our "Search by Address" tool. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) www.halton.ca/waste. The following materials will be accepted for collection free of charge: Acceptable materials include: pesticides, paint, stains, motor oil, antifreeze, varsol, fuels, cleaners, pool chemicals, pharmaceuticals, propane tanks, household batteries, car batteries, Unacceptable materials include: needles, syringes and lancets, asbestos, commercial and industrial waste, PCBs, explosives, and ammunition. Halton Waste Management Site will be closed Monday, August 2, 2010. Regular Operating Hours Open Monday to Saturday Electronics Acceptable items include: computers, stereos, phones, TVs, VCRs, DVD players and computer monitors Unacceptable materials include: metal and appliances, microwaves, vacuums, and scrap metal tires, reuse materials (clothing, etc.). Metal and appliances are not accepted at the Special Waste Drop-off Days. The contest is running as part of Halton's Outdoor Water Use Program Know Your Colour, Know Your Limits, which asks residents to be mindful of their outdoor water use during the summer months. The grand prize is valued at over $1,200 and includes an At-Home Master Landscape Design Plan from Sheridan Nurseries, a $500 Sheridan Nurseries Gift Card towards drought tolerant plants, a copy of The Canadian Illustrated Guide to Green Gardening and an Outdoor Watering Toolkit.
