Musician Kane wins TIMA By Dominik Kurek OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Oakville musician Alexandra Kane said she feels great after winning a Toronto Independent Music Award last week. "It feels so great to be recognized and honored for doing what I love," she wrote in an email. She was nominated in the best urban category for the music she released on her fourtrack EP earlier this month. The CD is titled Insane. The CD features pop/Top 40-style music. She also recently released a Christian music two-track CD, one of the songs of which is also featured on the Insane CD. Kane is promoting herself to music stations and said the nomination has been helpful as is the actual award. "This is most definitely a step in the right direction," she said. "The award ceremony itself was a fantastic networking opportunity that included magazines, CEOs from record labels and music associations and tons of extremely talented artists and musicians. I'm going to use this recognition to propel my TWISTING REALITY An Evening of MAGIC & ILLUSION For tickets, please call 905 815 2021 or toll free at 1 888 489 7784 August 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th at 8:00pm Added matinee show August 14th at 2pm On the SHERIDAN COLLEGE MAIN STAGE (Theatre Sheridan) 1430 Trafalgar Road Alexandra Kane career to the next level."
