The local 4Cats Art Studio is the Victoria, B.C.-founded companys first franchised location in eastern Canada. There are 21 4Cats loca- tions across Canada. The art studio is for children aged two to 15. At the studio chil- dren will create art works, inspired by works of famous artists, using professional quality art materials. The local studios owner and curator Jennifer Chung said, in a press release, I'm so excited to open in Oakville. I can't wait to bring the 4Cats experience here. Its an amazing opportunity to add more beauty to the world through art. Jennifer Chung, 4Cats Studio franchisee The Bad Dog Theatre Company in Oakville is promis- ing to induce some laughter this weekend at its improv comedy jam. The event, titled The Bad Dog Days of Summer, takes place at the Moonshine Cafe this Sunday, Aug. 29 with a pair of shows. The first show, at 7 p.m., is teens permitted. The show will feature Colin Murphy, Carson Gale, Cliff Murphy, Ben McCutchen, Alice Moran, Scott Meiklejohn, Lisa Farlow and oth- ers. The following show, at 8:30 p.m., is adults only. It will feature Jan Caruana, Carmine Lucarelli and Oakvilles Alice Moran and Gary Pearson. The show is hosted by Amy McKenzie. Tickets are $5 per show. Improv comedy this weekend A pair of Oakville visual artists are calling on art lovers to come out and see their work at an exhibit at the historic Sovereign House in Bronte. The exhibit, titled Our Hearts Speak Out, opens on Saturday, Aug. 28 and ends on Sept. 8. Halina Grzyb will showcase her paintings of pots and jars encased in her own unique frame creations. Her counterpart in the show, Mary Lyons, will showcase an eclectic assortment of drawings, paintings and collage work.
