Union Gas customers can pick up a free Energy Saving Kit at The Home Depot, 3300 South Service Rd. W., between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, while supplies last. Almost 20 percent of a homes energy bill goes to heating water for showers and washing dishes, clothes and hands. Each Energy Saving Kit packs about $35 worth of easy-to-install items that reduce the energy used to heat water in the home delivering up to $100 in energy savings every year. This cleaner and greener initiative also cuts air emissions and water consumption. By installing these items, cus- tomers will help eliminate close to 200 kg of carbon dioxide emissions and more than 20,000 litres of water consumption per household annually.
