Oakville Hydro is wholly owned by the Town of Oakville. Larry Scott, who has been a member of the board for about two years began his inquiry as soon as he found out about the donations. Scott is also the current chief of staff for Oakville MP Terence Young and is seeking an Ontario PC party nomination for the Oakville riding. Director seeks answers to Liberal donations By David Lea OAKVILLE BEAVER STAFF Oakville Ward 5 Town and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll wants council to launch an investigation into Oakville Hydros donation of $17,500 to the Ontario Liberal Party. In a press release Knoll announced he would bring a notice of motion to council on Monday, Nov. 15, for Oakville Hydro to suspend all partisan or political contributions effective immediately. His motion would also direct the board of directors of Oakville Hydro to draft a bylaw barring all donations of cash and/or goods and services to all political parties, constituency asso- ciations, candidates and for any other partisan political purpose whatsoever at all levels of government including federal, provincial, municipal and school board. A committee would also be estab- lished, comprised of three members of Town Council, to investigate the 2008 and 2009 contributions to the Liberal Party of Ontario.
