The Oakville Blades hope they've put their goal-scoring woes behind them. The Blades enjoyed their best offensive showing of the Ontario Junior Hockey League season Friday, skating to a 7-3 win over the Brampton Capitals at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex to conclude a sweep of their home-and-home series with the Capitals. Oakville earned a 4-3 overtime win in Brampton the previous evening. After scoring 65 goals in their first 20 games, the Blades have tal- lied 23 in their past five contests. Kyle Lysaght led the charge Friday, recording a hat trick to bump his team-leading goal count to 15. Recently-acquired forward Stefan Thompson added a pair, while Braedan Russell and Mark McGowan also found the net for the Blades. Dylan Wood had three assists. Kyle Blaney, Josh Ranalli, Lysaght and McGowan had Oakville's goals Thursday, with McGowan's marker coming 34 sec- onds into OT. Daniel Savelli earned the victory in goal in both games, stopping 70 of 76 shots. Oakville (15-9-1), which has won six of its past seven, will play three games in as many days this weekend. The Blades will be home to the Huntsville Otters Friday at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, then visit the Georgetown Raiders Saturday and the Burlington Cougars Sunday. 35 W ednesday , N ovem ber 24, 2010 O A KVILLE BEA V ER w w w .o akvillebeaver .co m Blades break out in sweep of Brampton Atom Eagles golden in Nottawasaga The Oakville atom red Eagles house league hockey team recent- ly won a tournament in Nottawasaga.
