Giving it all they've gotMother Teresa secondat Catholic system meetMother Teresa Elementary School students won four individualevents and a relay race to help their school finish second overall atthe Halton Catholic District School Boards recent track-and-fieldsystem championships at Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School.Megan Nixon led Mother Teresa with a pair of gold medals, win-ning the atom girls 400-metre and long jump events. TeammateLauren Amarel-Anderson added a victory in the atom girls 200m(setting a record in the process, finishing in 29.54 seconds) andJayden Wiggins was victorious in the bantam boys 800m.Mother Teresa also won the tyke boys 4x100m relay and finishedthe meet with 76 points, three behind champion St. Catherine of Alexandria. Other local schools in the top 10 included St. Andrewth(sixth), St. Marguerite dYouville (eighth) and St. Matthew (10).Amarel-Anderson wasnt the only local student to set a record atthe meet.
