Playing their third game in a seven-hour span, the As seemed to run out of pitching as they trailed 5-0 after one inning and never recovered. Oakville managed just four hits in the loss and committed a couple of costly errors in the field. The As reached the final by defeating the Glanbrook Grizzlies 9-7 and then handing Milton its first loss of the tournament, 10-6. Oakville and Milton met again in the final because of the tour- naments double-elimination format. Marc Walton hit a game-winning home run in fthe seventh inning against Glanbrook, one o three round-trippers clubbed by the As. Oakville had 13 hits in the contest. In the first meeting with Milton, Kevin Lee led an 11-hit Oakville attack with a pair of solo hom- ers. The As trailed 5-3 in the sixth inning before erupting for six runs with two outs, keyed by a two-run double by Matt Bekar. Gord Robertson earned the victory in relief for Oakville.
