Robbies Rainbow provides funding to children living with severe Crohns dis- ease. Robbie's Rainbow will strike back at Crohn's The children it assists desperate- ly need a specialized and expensive drug treatment to keep Crohns dis- ease in remission. For many children, this treat- ment is the final treatment option before surgery is used to gain con- trol of the disease. Many families are denied access to this class of drug because they either have no private drug insurance, or their policies do not cover the cost of the drugs. O.H.I.P does not provide coverage, so children are faced with using a less effective drug that doesnt con- trol the disease because its all they can financially afford. Robbie has been battling with Crohns disease since his sixth birthday. Crohns disease is an inflammatory disease that affects the digestive tract anywhere from the mouth to the anus. It most commonly affects the lower intestine. In Robbies case, without treatment, the disease causes intense abdominal cramping, vomiting, headaches, exhaustion and diarrhea.
