The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is one of WWF-Canadas largest events of the year and happens on different dates and locations across the country from Sept. 17-25. Long-time Oakville resident Laura Gallo is a site co-ordinator organizing the Oakville-based event on Sunday. Gallo will have many colleagues, friends and family helping in the effort, but invites others to take part, too. " As a proud resident of Oakville for many years, I wanted to do my part in making this community and our planet a cleaner one. The event I am holding is right here in Oakville at Dingle Park and my volunteers will be gathering to pick up garbage along the parks shoreline. I have a real passion for this organization," said Gallo. The Oakvile clean up will take place Sunday, from 10 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are asked to meet at Dingle Park, located at the corner of Dunn and Front streets in downtown Oakville.
