Halton police said the incident took place at 8:45 p.m. when the cyclist, who was heading westbound on Oak Walk Drive, was struck by a northbound grey Toyota mini-van as he attempted to cross Oak Park Boulevard. The cyclist sustained serious head injuries in the collision and was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital where his condition is described as critical, but not life-threatening. Due to the serious nature of the mans injuries, the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. The section of the road where the accident took place was closed for four hours while police collected evi- dence.
