On April 12, 2007, Karen Drexler's world was turned upside down when her son Jacob, who was born with Down syndrome, was diagnosed with leukemia. "It was the most devastating day of my life," Drexler said. "We had gotten several blood tests done before that (his diagnosis), so in a way I was kind of expecting it, but it was still shock."
