www.insideHALTON.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, April 25, 2012 · 14 Share our passion for authentic flavours from India at Suvai Classic Indian Cuisine Suvai Classic Indian Cuisine is Oakville's newest Indian restaurant that now resides in downtown Oakville. `Suvai' derives from one of the oldest languages in India (Tamil) and translates to taste and flavour. "We wanted to bring the Indian flare to Oakville," owner and Chef Thiru Maran explains of his reasons to bring his awardwinning restaurant to Oakville. Suvai's grand opening celebration was held on Sunday, April 15. "We had a fantastic turnout at the grand opening and would like to thank everyone who came down to help us celebrate," he says. Continuing their tradition from their Waterloo location, Thiru and his wife Thilaka took their first step into Oakville by sharing their growth through a charitable cause. "We partnered with Food for Life, a food recovery program that aims to deliver fresh foods to those in our community that are in need, and asked that our guests that attended our grand opening generously contribute to this worthy cause," Thiru says. "Again, we want to thank everyone who did come out and help support both us and this worthwhile cause. It was with their help that we were able to help Food for Life and our community as a whole." The menu is a healthy mix of north and south Indian cuisine and offers everything from appetizers, chutney dips, soups and salads, breads and dosas, vegetarian and rice dishes and hearty meals. Many of the menu items are available in gluten free as well as vegan and vegetarian options. Experience and knowledge is at the utmost importance when it comes to preparing authentic, Indian cuisine. "Having worked in this industry for more than three decades and in more than six different countries, we have had the opportunity to cater to diverse guests in a variety of occasions," he says. The restaurant is a smart and causal, family-friendly, relaxing environment, complete with authentic décor and design that allows you to step out of Oakville and experience everything India has to offer. Chef Thiru works hard every day to perfect his dishes to ensure that each and every preservative free, fresh and natural dish is prepared with the utmost care and perfection. "With a great sense of passion for food and service, while keeping your health in mind, we aim to provide you an unique and memorable dining experience. The most rewarding part we look forward to is the positive feedback as you relish you meal."
