No one was in the house at the time of the blaze. Firefighters were quick to douse the flames. Ferrari, Audi lost in $900,000 garage fire The Oakville Fire Department said no one was injured in a $900,000 garage fire at a Lakeshore Road East home Sunday. Much of the damage estimate comes from the destruction of a Ferrari and an Audi, which were parked inside the garage. Deputy Fire Chief Andy Glynn said neighbours called 911 at around 2:30 p.m., after seeing smoke and flames coming from a garage windows. When firefighters arrived, Glynn said the garage was fully engulfed. "They (firefighters) attacked the fire and contained it to the garage area," said Glynn. "The crews did an excellent job of making sure it didn't get into the house." Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames in about half an hour. While the house sustained only some minor smoke damage, fire damage to the garage was extensive. Investigators from the Oakville Fire Department were called to the scene. Glynn said they determined the fire originated in the garage, but were unable to determine an exact cause. The Town of Oakville will maintain its stand that there should be a 200-metre separation distance between cell towers and sensitive land uses (including homes) -- despite the likelihood it will be overruled by Industry Canada.
